My name is Joan Dent, and I am first and foremost a lover of all things nature.
Growing up surrounded by nature in Bay Bulls, NL, the forests and ocean shores were our playgrounds. I still love being in and around all that nature has to offer, whether it is hiking through forests, combing the shores of ponds, and walking (or skipping) along the sandy or rocky shores of our beautiful coast.
In my excursions I am always searching for little treasures that nature offers up to us. With that passion guiding me, along with my great love of plants I became a Horticulturist and Landscape designer, graduating from the University of Guelph with a Diploma in Horticulture.
Though life has thrown a few curve balls and I can no longer do the physical hard work involved in the Horticulture and Landscaping industry, I have found new joy in designing and creating miniature flower and woodland gardens in hand crafted botanical jewelry and home décor. These pieces are made with responsibly foraged flora and fauna from our beautiful island as well as blossoms from my own planted garden (or friends' and families' gardens lol).
